Sara and Daniel :: A Rainy Day Engagement at Moss Rock

One of my favorite parts about getting to know my clients is reading their answers to some initial questions I ask them about each other. Questions about their relationship, their ‘meet que’ and each other. Daniel and Sara are effortlessly warm, kind, and something about them  just makes you want to goofy smily. As you can see, they laughed a lot (and had me laughing a lot) during their engagement session despite all the rain and nasty weather we ran into while exploring  Moss Rock. But I think one of my favorite parts about getting to know them during this session was seeing how they love each other. There is something different about their love that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. There was this sense of grace and peace in how they treated each other (and others). Later, after reading their answers to my initial questions, Daniel put into words what I had witnessed just in my short time of knowing these two….

What Daniel loves most about Sara:
What I love most about Sara is her pursuit and desire to be transformed into the image of Christ every day. Every part of her begins with that life changing purpose. I love that in every circumstance, she finds a way in humility to enjoy the blessings and with grace persevere through hardships. One quality that drew me to her initially was her kindness and tenderness towards others, including me. She always affirms and encourages, building others up and always seeks peace. She is the one, short of Christ, that best models Philippians 2:3 in counting others more significant than herself.

Sara and Daniel show God’s love in their every interaction and I know that this marriage will be a true blessing to all that are lucky enough to meet them. I can’t wait to witness the joining of the families and lives of these two this summer. It’s going to one special day:)

Katie and Wes :: A Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session

Katie has always someone I have admired and looked up to. She is the perfect combination of southern charm, quick whit, and political awareness and knowledge that would blow the socks off anyone. It was hard to imagine a guy that could match with her effortless confidence and kindness. A Washington DC romance began, and I think Katie’s friends knew she had found quite the man. Wes is equally confident and kind and his love for Katie shows in his every action (these pictures are proof). Katie and Wes have a grown a passion and love for the Magic City and they wanted to make sure the city was the backdrop for these pictures. With lots of out of town guests and family, I think these pictures are the perfect way to introduce all the people they love to our little city:)I cannot wait for their wedding this Saturday- it will be one for the books for sure!

Diana and Joel :: An intimate chapel wedding

When Diana first messaged me describing her wedding, I was giddy thinking about capturing her and Joel’s day and getting to shoot at Tannehill State Park. Little did I know that Diana and Joel’s small description did not even come close to preparing me for this wedding that was unique, sweet, sentimental, and ADORABLE! Both Diana and Joel are two of the most thoughtful and courteous people and exude love and beauty (both inner and outer beauty). This intimate wedding with close family and friends coupled with the background of Tannehill makes for one unforgettable day. I was truly honored to capture their love story and I hope you enjoy these precious details as much as I do!

Mary & Darryl :: Art Deco Inspired Engagement

Mary is a good friend from college, and she contacted me asking if I would be up for Art-deco inspired engagement session at the Alabama Theater. I may or may not have done a little dance when I read that email:)I am so honored to be able to capture these two and their drop dead gorgeous-ness. Their great sense of style combined with the classic look and bright red velvets throughout the theater made for an amazing session. I can’t wait to be a part of Mary and Darryl’s big day in January where I’m sure they will amaze me and have me doing happy dances even more!

They are such a great couple, love these photos!!!

Elizabeth & Kevin :: Fall filled engagement session

To say I’m obsessed with the this engagement session is a little bit of an understatement. When I first met with Elizabeth, we discovered we had all kinds of mutual friends, and we both were surprised we hadn’t already met! I clicked and bonded even more with these two over of our mutual love for Alabama football and outdoor adventures.

Elizabeth and Kevin camp often together, so what better time for pictures than Botanical Gardens in the midst of fall? The mix of the beautiful, fall colors, the gorgeous, golden light and this cute couple made for some pretty perfect pictures. They have such a comfortable and relaxed way about them (just look at all the precious snuggles below), and I loved being able to capture this calm, easy love. Congrats Elizabeth and Kevin, and I cannot wait to be a part of your big day this January.
